Get free previews of new films with BFI Escapes

Want a sneak preview of Seize Them! an irreverent new comedy that sees some of the UK’s brightest young stars finding the funny side of life in the dark ages?

Thanks to National Lottery players, free screenings of this hilarious film will take place as part of Escapes, an initiative supported by the BFI (awarding National Lottery funding). Escapes is designed to encourage everyone to discover, or rediscover, independent cinema.

As part of Escapes, more than 15,000 tickets will be available to free viewings of Seize Them! held at more than 120 cinemas across the UK on 25th March 2024. To find out more and to book tickets, go to escapetothecinema.co.uk/tickets.

Seize Them! is the rollicking tale of the arrogant Queen Dagan (played by Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood) who becomes a fugitive in her own land. The cast also includes Lolly Adefope (Ghosts), Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls, Bridgerton), BAFTA-winner Jessica Hynes (Spaced, W1A), Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) and stand-up comedian James Acaster.

Cinema-goers should expect a voyage of surprises, hardship, danger and most-of-all, laughter.

Escapes is on a mission to bring new audiences to local cinemas by offering the chance for everyone, especially those who rarely prioritise a trip to the cinema, the opportunity to watch the film for free and prior to its release date.

Escapes will partner with leading cinema chains including Picturehouse and Reel cinemas, as well as independent venues across the UK. They range from Nottingham’s Savoy Cinema (the city’s only surviving pre-Second World War cinema) to Whitley Bay’s Jam Jar, the Strand Arts Centre in Belfast, the Hippodrome in Scotland and many, many more.
